The supporters of ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedé Mazer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Nascimento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made a huge save. Delfim Quintal hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Serafim Simão to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Jhon Barcellos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Oswaldo Nunes. The goal made the score 2-1. Dedé Mazer's late challenge caught a ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
