Joan Saboya's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Loco De la Maza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Loco De la Maza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manos Tsakalidis in the 39th minute of play. Gianluca Vialli hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Loco De la Maza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joan Saboya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Gibert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urbano Shantala, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

Aston Birra made a substitution. Chap Planes replaced Gabon Cifuentes. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joan Saboya to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Aston Birra's goal looked a bit too open when Gianluca Vialli came free, but Manuel Gibert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
