Narciso Frechoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Danijel Petrlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Narciso Frechoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Hrste, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 2-0 became the score in the 29th minute when Danijel Petrlin elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Narciso Frechoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Hrste, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maksimir's Siniša Lerotić was substituted for Gradimir Antonić.
