In the 4th minute, Marcos Pacifico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augusto Cordario got free with Mathias Gavilanes in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 11 played minutes Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Ronan Mistral. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Cordario in the 14th minute of play forced NK Dubrava Zagreb's goalkeeper Mathias Gavilanes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Augusto Cordario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 17th minute Augusto Cordario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Gavilanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mathias Gavilanes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Cordario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Augusto Cordario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Gavilanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, NK Dubrava Zagreb's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Cordario came free, but Mathias Gavilanes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Augusto Cordario in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mathias Gavilanes saved NK Dubrava Zagreb from getting behind. Velez Sarsfield's attentive Ronan Mistral managed to snatch the ball when Tvrtko Urban made a throw-in in the 34th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Cordario in the 35th minute of play forced NK Dubrava Zagreb's goalkeeper Mathias Gavilanes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teodosio Sergi came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by NK Dubrava Zagreb's Antun Zahora. But to his dismay, Antun Zahora quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Mathias Gavilanes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Augusto Cordario showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 41 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Cordario in the 45th minute of play forced NK Dubrava Zagreb's goalkeeper Mathias Gavilanes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute of the match, Augusto Cordario tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mathias Gavilanes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augusto Cordario stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mathias Gavilanes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Cordario in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th match minute, NK Dubrava Zagreb was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tvrtko Urban to maneuver through the defense. Augusto Cordario fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathias Gavilanes having to interfere. In the 60th minute Augusto Cordario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Gavilanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner went over the outstretched arms of NK Dubrava Zagreb's goalie and right to Ago Tramp. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. NK Dubrava Zagreb's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Velez Sarsfield's Marcos Pacifico quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Tvrtko Urban, made in the 66th minute of the game. Augusto Cordario blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mathias Gavilanes having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Augusto Cordario put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Mathias Gavilanes. Velez Sarsfield's Leandro Berti was substituted for Ignacio Berenguer. NK Dubrava Zagreb made a substitution. Gordan Sedmak replaced Lech Bojanowski. After 79 played minutes NK Dubrava Zagreb got a freekick which was hit by Tvrtko Urban. 83 minutes into the match, Augusto Cordario notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of NK Dubrava Zagreb's Mathias Gavilanes. Mathias Gavilanes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 85th match minute, NK Dubrava Zagreb was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tvrtko Urban to maneuver through the defense. Velez Sarsfield's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Filomeno Montrell in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Cordario in the 92nd minute of play forced NK Dubrava Zagreb's goalkeeper Mathias Gavilanes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Velez Sarsfield's Sun Zhi Zhen got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Augusto Cordario fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathias Gavilanes having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the NK Dubrava Zagreb players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Velez Sarsfield.
