An unexpectedly hard shot by Wladimir Jungwirth in the 3rd minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Chiquito Martinez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wladimir Jungwirth might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chiquito Martinez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wladimir Jungwirth ran back to his position shaking his head. Independiente's Chiquito Martinez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wladimir Jungwirth in the 4th minute of play. In the 7th minute Wladimir Jungwirth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquito Martinez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Werderaner 04 Volkssport's Nestor Romero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Werderaner 04 Volkssport from getting a goal against them. Chiquito Martinez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wladimir Jungwirth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorg Pieters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Romero having to interfere. In the 15th minute Jonas Küttner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquito Martinez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Independiente:s Chiquito Martinez showed great skill when he stopped Wladimir Jungwirth:s penalty. Chiquito Martinez came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Werderaner 04 Volkssport's Wladimir Jungwirth. But to his dismay, Wladimir Jungwirth quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A collision led to Werderaner 04 Volkssport getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Paolo Ulrich hit a great ball. Nestor Romero came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente's Flavio Laurgain. But to his dismay, Flavio Laurgain quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 43rd minute Wladimir Jungwirth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquito Martinez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 minutes Independiente's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Benno Schellhase who took care of the corner kick. In the 46thth minute of the game Wladimir Jungwirth who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Independiente's Chiquito Martinez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wladimir Jungwirth made a kick off. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente's goalkeeper Chiquito Martinez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 58 minutes into the match, Werderaner 04 Volkssport's goal looked a bit too open when Jorg Pieters came free, but Nestor Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Werderaner 04 Volkssport's goal looked a bit too open when Flavio Laurgain came free, but Nestor Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestor Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjy Benton in the 72nd minute of the match. Chiquito Martinez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Küttner, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 75 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Wladimir Jungwirth came free, but Chiquito Martinez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Keith Harms struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Chiquito Martinez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Werderaner 04 Volkssport. After a rather tough play, Werderaner 04 Volkssport's Gerd Gross got a free kick in the 77th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Keith Harms managed to get in a good position for a shot. Werderaner 04 Volkssport's supporters rose to their feet, but Keith Harms was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chiquito Martinez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonas Küttner came free with the goalkeeper in the 82nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Chiquito Martinez could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonas Küttner got free with Chiquito Martinez in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chiquito Martinez made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Keith Harms sent off a good shot on target. In the 89th minute, Werderaner 04 Volkssport's Keith Harms ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Chiquito Martinez. Chiquito Martinez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The Independiente manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Werderaner 04 Volkssport to win.
