The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Amedeo De Matteis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Delta FS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. A collision led to La Candela FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Roberto Rogel hit a great ball. In the 9th minute of the match Hélder Cavaco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ruben Sánchez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the La Candela FC defense, Andaka Mula kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ruben Sánchez. The La Candela FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruben Sánchez should have stopped the shot. In the 15th minute, Andaka Mula hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastián Battaglia hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the match, La Candela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Vilaverde came free, but Ruben Sánchez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. La Candela FC's Ruben Sánchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amedeo De Matteis in the 20th minute of play. Nicolás Valentini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter Roriz having to interfere. Marcus Odin took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruben Sánchez. Ruben Sánchez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After 30 minutes La Candela FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hélder Cavaco who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Delta FS's Hélder Cavaco to fire away a dangerous shot which Ruben Sánchez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ruben Sánchez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amedeo De Matteis, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Ruben Sánchez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andaka Mula in the 34th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andaka Mula got free with Ruben Sánchez in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 47 minutes into the game, Nicolás Valentini cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Gualter Roriz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andaka Mula to make the kick off. When Marcus Odin came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Delta FS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Odin couldn't finish the play. Nicolás Valentini could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Gualter Roriz made a huge save. 59 minutes into the match, La Candela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amedeo De Matteis came free, but Ruben Sánchez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. La Candela FC's Ruben Sánchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amedeo De Matteis in the 69th minute of play. La Candela FC's Rubén-Darío Feldmann was substituted for Nicolás Valentini. La Candela FC's Gabi Batistuta was substituted for Luis Medero. The corner led Delta FS's Walter Samuel to fire away a dangerous shot which Ruben Sánchez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Walter Samuel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Ruben Sánchez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 75 minutes into the match, La Candela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andaka Mula came free, but Ruben Sánchez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcus Odin hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andaka Mula in the 79th minute of play forced La Candela FC's goalkeeper Ruben Sánchez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute Marcus Odin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Sánchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Delta FS's Gualter Roriz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Delta FS from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Gabi Batistuta took a quick shot and it went in 4-2 without a chance for Gualter Roriz to make any attempt to save it. 89 minutes into the match, La Candela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Vilaverde came free, but Ruben Sánchez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gualter Roriz came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by La Candela FC's Rubén-Darío Feldmann. But to his dismay, Rubén-Darío Feldmann quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rubén-Darío Feldmann in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gualter Roriz prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
