The audience was convinced that Biagio Selvaggi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fuat Birsen was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. When Müfit Eymen fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yamanlar SK's protests and gave Müfit Eymen a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Yamanlar SK getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Müfit Eymen hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Yamanlar SK's Müjdat Yaban got a free kick in the 38th minute. Biagio Selvaggi scored 0-4 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fuat Birsen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 45th match minute, Yamanlar SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erkin Şafakgün to maneuver through the defense. Alessandro Pellegrini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erkin Şafakgün, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The Yamanlar SK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Atalanta were winning 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Biagio Selvaggi made a kick off. Eraldo Mercuri hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Fuat Birsen came out of the goal and Cristiano Basso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Atalanta booed when Yamanlar SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Müjdat Yaban didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Yamanlar SK's zone, Cristiano Basso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fuat Birsen came out of the goal and Cristiano Basso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 65 minutes, Fuat Birsen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Atalanta's Biagio Selvaggi in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Yamanlar SK's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Leone during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Biagio Selvaggi in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fuat Birsen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Biagio Selvaggi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Fuat Birsen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Biagio Selvaggi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 88 minute of play. Atalanta played a much better game than Yamanlar SK and deserved their victory. The Yamanlar SK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
