The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Fábio Guimarães got free with Ksawery Witkowski in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Magallanes's Ksawery Witkowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Magallanes from getting a goal against them. Ksawery Witkowski made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Luiz Fábio Guimarães sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mihăiţă Stolniceanu was the one to do the kick off. Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anacleto Dessauer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Lyle Coppack made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kadim Sebil in the 82nd minute of play. Kadim Sebil received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lyle Coppack came out and tried to block the shot, but Kadim Sebil slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 86th minute. In the 89th minute, Anacleto Dessauer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lyle Coppack was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. The Magallanes players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
