Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anselmo Nevada kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Roque Gabon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mugur Chiriac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faro querandi's Roque Gabon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugur Chiriac in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute Club Atlético Atlanta were awarded a corner. Ciro Ferdinand went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Ciro Ferdinand almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Faro querandi's Roque Gabon did a great save. Alfonso Goicoechea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Roque Gabon made a huge save. In the 21st minute of the match Club Atlético Atlanta got a corner. Faro querandi's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ciro Ferdinand ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 26th minute, Mugur Chiriac reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Roque Gabon. The goal made the score 1-0. 28 minutes into the match, Faro querandi's goalkeeper Roque Gabon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfonso Goicoechea. Roque Gabon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remigio Erramu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faro querandi's Roque Gabon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Faro querandi from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Igor Pandilovski in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pankracy Glogowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Faro querandi's zone, Remigio Erramu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roque Gabon came out of the goal and Remigio Erramu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mugur Chiriac had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Igor Pandilovski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pankracy Glogowski having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfonso Goicoechea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zeledon Garci hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 53rd minute, Alfonso Goicoechea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roque Gabon was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 61st minute, Igor Pandilovski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silverio Calvet in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute Faro querandi were awarded a corner. Serafin Eufemio went to the cornerflag to take it. 65 minutes into the game, Club Atlético Atlanta's Alfonso Goicoechea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roque Gabon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Roque Gabon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Goicoechea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roque Gabon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Goicoechea in the 69th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Remigio Erramu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roque Gabon. Faro querandi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Remigio Erramu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Club Atlético Atlanta's Benigno Abreu was substituted for Remigio Erramu. Eustaquio Jaizki's late challenge caught a Faro querandi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eustaquio Jaizki helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Faro querandi booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustaquio Jaizki didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Club Atlético Atlanta's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
