With his leg Roberto Abbondanzieri managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Pharos Alexandria F.C.'s Amerigo Egger fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 16th match minute, Venezia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximo Perfecto to maneuver through the defense. Roberto Abbondanzieri stood somewhat misplaced when Amerigo Egger came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 19 minute. The supporters of Pharos Alexandria F.C. booed when Venezia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angel Quinito didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezia FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
