When Freddy Corderun came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Los Chamos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freddy Corderun couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Santo Pablo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Isaac Hermon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Toni Schumacher was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Craig Argoud successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 57 played minutes Los Chamos FC got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Beranga. After having played for 58 minutes, Santo Pablo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santo Pablo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Toni Schumacher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaac Hermon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thiago Nascimento in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Toni Schumacher saved U21 Venezuela from getting behind. In the 65th minute Los Chamos FC were awarded a corner. Freddy Corderun went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 66th minute Louis Pasteur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Craig Argoud saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Freddy Corderun took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Toni Schumacher. U21 Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luciano Costoya's late challenge caught a Los Chamos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luciano Costoya helped the player get up and apologised. Los Chamos FC's Samuel Almaguer was substituted for Bertol Pacheco. In the 70th match minute, U21 Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luciano Costoya to maneuver through the defense. Toni Schumacher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Corderun in the 71st minute of play. Luciano Costoya was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. U21 Venezuela's Luciano Costoya was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Craig Argoud in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
