The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sameeh Sameeh hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After 4 played minutes, US Albenga's Beniamin Bara shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Khalil Besheer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in US Albenga reached it. After 5 minutes Bolton Wanderers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Beniamin Bara who took care of the corner kick. Alex Pacella stood somewhat misplaced when Mazhar Ismail came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 7 minute. Bolton Wanderers's Khalil Besheer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anfilogino Melone in the 22nd minute of play. Alex Pacella showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mazhar Ismail in the 26th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Anfilogino Melone put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Khalil Besheer. In the 37th minute Anfilogino Melone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Khalil Besheer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anfilogino Melone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Khalil Besheer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Khalil Besheer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniele Panella in the 42nd minute of play. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the match, Bolton Wanderers's goal looked a bit too open when Anfilogino Melone came free, but Khalil Besheer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anfilogino Melone in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Khalil Besheer prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
US Albenga's Alvise Restaino was substituted for Aldo Renzetti. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anfilogino Melone was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Bolton Wanderers's Khalil Besheer got control of the ball when Anfilogino Melone tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sameeh Sameeh during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Khalil Besheer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 78 minutes into the game, Daniele Panella cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-7. Khalil Besheer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 81 minutes into the game, Vitomir Piralkov cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-8. US Albenga's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
