Chivos de Punto Fijo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Filip Bochinski in the 75th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Mannuel Ser heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 81 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Nacho González had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cezary Makomaski. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 92 minutes had been played when some careless play by Astillero del Guayas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Filip Bochinski was slow to take the kick. During this time Chivos de Punto Fijo's players had a chance to rest. In the 93rd minute Chivos de Punto Fijo were awarded a corner. Filip Bochinski went to the cornerflag to take it. Juan Torrent could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Nacho González made a huge save. Juan-Pablo Leyarte hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Astillero del Guayas's defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when Juan Torrent scored to the left of an out of position Nacho González, making the score, 1-6. The Chivos de Punto Fijo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chivos de Punto Fijo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
