Enzo Silviano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giuseppe Meazza in the 18th minute of the match. La Candela FC's Enzo Silviano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save La Candela FC from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute, Juan Luis Dittborn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enzo Silviano was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 34th match minute, Inter de Chillán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lothar Matthæus to maneuver through the defense. When Claudio Marangoni fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Candela FC's protests and gave Claudio Marangoni a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to La Candela FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Claudio Marangoni hit a great ball. The long shot by Rogerio Berecedo in the 47th minute really tested Enzo Silviano's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

La Candela FC made a substitution. Ademar Castro replaced Teodosio Frans. 52 minutes into the game, Giuseppe Meazza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Enzo Silviano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Inter de Chillán's Rogerio Berecedo got a free kick in the 56th minute. Cai Bing Cheng's shot from long distance in the 57th minute was not bad at all, but Inter de Chillán's José Ignacio Rocha knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Enzo Silviano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Lacunza in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Juan Luis Alfaro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enzo Silviano was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. La Candela FC made a substitution. Jeremias Bide replaced Alcides Silveira. Gabi Batistuta's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, José Ignacio Rocha skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 89 minutes into the match, Francisco Lacunza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enzo Silviano. La Candela FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Lacunza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. Lothar Matthæus made in the 92nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Steve Vaid however managed to control. Enzo Silviano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Lacunza in the 93rd minute of the match. Inter de Chillán walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
