A collision led to Dep Colonia Avellaneda getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Pascual Lesardo hit a great ball. Rafal Jakubiak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victoriano Bernaldo having to interfere. If Darryl Buckner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 31 minutes into the match, Chelsea Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Darryl Buckner came free, but Leszek Wielopolski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chelsea Football Club's Leszek Wielopolski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darryl Buckner in the 34th minute of play. With a little luck, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Victoriano Bernaldo got control of the ball when Rafal Jakubiak tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Rafal Jakubiak sped through Dep Colonia Avellaneda's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Victoriano Bernaldo. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 94th minute Isaac Henrico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victoriano Bernaldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dep Colonia Avellaneda's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner.
