Gottskálk Þengilsson hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Elverk Vogum's zone, Jóann Sindrason stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daríus Sigmundarson came out of the goal and Jóann Sindrason tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tístran Bjargmundarson was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Þorgarður Arnljótsson. After a rather tough play, Bylgjan2's Hílton Koehler got a free kick in the 14th minute. Shelton Labrecque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 21 minutes into the game, when Davíð Sölvason put in a rough tackle. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Elverk Vogum! An unexpectedly hard shot by Shelton Labrecque in the 24th minute of play forced Elverk Vogum's goalkeeper Daríus Sigmundarson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daríus Sigmundarson didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Bylgjan2's Shelton Labrecque shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Þorgarður Arnljótsson hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jóann Sindrason in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daríus Sigmundarson saved Elverk Vogum from getting behind. Geir Mánason could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Tístran Bjargmundarson made a huge save. Shelton Labrecque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Bylgjan2's goalkeeper Tístran Bjargmundarson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geir Mánason. Kristþór Viðarsson hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Shelton Labrecque blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Daríus Sigmundarson having to make a save. In the 46th minute, Jörvi Daðason fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geir Mánason stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Shelton Labrecques short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Daríus Sigmundarson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Geir Mánason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tístran Bjargmundarson having to interfere. Tístran Bjargmundarson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geir Mánason in the 55th minute of play. With a little luck, Elverk Vogum's Daríus Sigmundarson got control of the ball when Shelton Labrecque tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Bylgjan2 defense, Geir Mánason kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tístran Bjargmundarson. The Bylgjan2 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tístran Bjargmundarson should have stopped the shot. Jörvi Daðason hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After 78 minutes, Gunnröður Aðalsteinsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Elverk Vogum and the Bylgjan2 players grew even worse after the yellow card. 77 minutes into the game, one of Elverk Vogum:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 78th minute there was a penalty for Bylgjan2. Jóann Sindrason stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Daríus Sigmundarson. 1-2. After having played for 86 minutes, Shelton Labrecque managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bylgjan2's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shelton Labrecque was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Bylgjan2 booed when Elverk Vogum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Þorgarður Arnljótsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience held their breath when Jóann Sindrason in the 89th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Daríus Sigmundarson's left hand side. Jóann Sindrason struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Daríus Sigmundarson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bylgjan2. In the 96th minute of the match, Jóann Sindrason tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Daríus Sigmundarson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bylgjan2 eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
