Geir Mánason could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Össur Aðalmundsson made a huge save. Þorgarður Arnljótsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Össur Aðalmundsson having to interfere. In the 75th match minute, Vernd Grindavík was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mikjáll Geislason to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Þorgarður Arnljótsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Össur Aðalmundsson. That made the score 2-7 in the 79 minute of play. Geir Mánason could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Össur Aðalmundsson made a huge save.
