The audience thought a goal was coming when Charles Forsman got free with Ignacio Di Stasi in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zafer Hürsel came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Dínamo Kwanza's Pedro Montoia. But to his dismay, Pedro Montoia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Håkan Kjellman's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ignacio Di Stasi firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 37th minute, 鲁亮斐 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jörgen Ekeroth got free in front of the goal in the 40th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Ignacio Di Stasi was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Ignacio Di Stasi came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's Håkan Kjellman. But to his dismay, Håkan Kjellman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After the first half Dínamo Kwanza were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Ivarsson in the 52nd minute of play forced Dínamo Kwanza's goalkeeper Ignacio Di Stasi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ignacio Di Stasi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fábio Preto got free with Zafer Hürsel in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
