The audience was convinced that Fábio Lira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Damazy Barycz was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. If Mané Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulryk Cempa's late challenge caught a Sururu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Damazy Barycz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sururu. 31 minutes into the match, Sururu's goal looked a bit too open when Mateusz Sroki came free, but Juninho Ceresso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mané Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilbert Pleban kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the game, Iwo Kuszczak was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stuttgarter SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sururu the free kick. A collision led to Stuttgarter SC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Stuttgarter SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateusz Sroki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juninho Ceresso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sururu's Fábio Lira got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Iwo Kuszczak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mateusz Sroki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Ceresso having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Luís Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Sururu booed when Stuttgarter SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilbert Pleban didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sururu's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Samuca Bittencourt in the 68th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sururu had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
