Gonçalo Chaves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joel Abilio made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Eliseu Paraibano sent off a good shot on target. Gonçalo Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaldo Canor in the 10th minute of the match. Florentino Firmo hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Cláudio Neiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bahia EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Neiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel Abilio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Arnaldo Canor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Florentino Firmo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, Candido Gartzea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliseu Paraibano got free with Joel Abilio in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes into the game, Vítor Munhoz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bahia EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Tira piedras the free kick. In the 28th minute, Vítor Munhoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joel Abilio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cláudio Neiva in the 30th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Los Tira piedras defense, Eliseu Paraibano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joel Abilio. The Los Tira piedras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel Abilio should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arnaldo Canor in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gonçalo Chaves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Bahia EC's Vítor Munhoz got a free kick in the 37th minute. Arnaldo Canor struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Gonçalo Chaves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Tira piedras. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Isidro Gregory put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Gonçalo Chaves. After 45 played minutes Los Tira piedras got a freekick which was hit by Amancio Egun. Cláudio Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Joel Abilio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cláudio Neiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amancio Egun took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gonçalo Chaves. Bahia EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 59 minutes into the game, Renato Botelho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bahia EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Tira piedras the free kick. After 59 played minutes Bahia EC got a freekick which was hit by Renato Botelho. Isidro Gregory recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joel Abilio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseu Paraibano in the 62nd minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Los Tira piedras fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Bahia EC a penalty, 64 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Adrianinho de Queirós, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Los Tira piedras's Joel Abilio. 3-2. 68 minutes into the match, Los Tira piedras's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseu Paraibano came free, but Joel Abilio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Eliseu Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th match minute, Los Tira piedras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amancio Egun to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Los Tira piedras's zone, Cláudio Neiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Abilio came out of the goal and Cláudio Neiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 77th match minute, Los Tira piedras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimiro Elivareo to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Cláudio Neiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joel Abilio was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. After 82 played minutes Los Tira piedras got a freekick which was hit by Generoso Bernard. Isidro Gregory could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Gonçalo Chaves made a huge save. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Gonçalo Chaves successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a little luck, Bahia EC's Gonçalo Chaves got control of the ball when Isidro Gregory tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Bahia EC's Renato Botelho got a free kick in the 86th minute. After a rather tough play, Bahia EC's Vítor Munhoz got a free kick in the 89th minute. Gonçalo Chaves made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Isidro Gregory sent off a good shot on target. In the 94th minute, Vítor Munhoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joel Abilio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseu Paraibano in the 97th minute of play. Eliseu Paraibano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bahia EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Los Tira piedras had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
