The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cleto Rami took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Di Ruscio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Fausto Di Ruscio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 9 minutes, Rodolfo Castulo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esther FC and the Poggio players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 9 played minutes Esther FC got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Castulo. Fausto Di Ruscio struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Cleto Rami didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Poggio. When Cesare De Marchi fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poggio's protests and gave Cesare De Marchi a yellow card for diving instead. After 12 played minutes Poggio got a freekick which was hit by Cesare De Marchi. Fausto Di Ruscio took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cleto Rami. Cleto Rami dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 26 played minutes Poggio got a freekick which was hit by Carter Cacciatore. Isaias Clodio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute Augusto Zinni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cleto Rami saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Augusto Zinni cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Cleto Rami was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 43 played minutes Esther FC got a freekick which was hit by Mauricio Librado. Fausto Di Ruscio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isaias Clodio was the one to do the kick off. Carter Cacciatore charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carter Cacciatore the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Carter Cacciatore kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Augusto Zinni's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cleto Rami was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Fausto Di Ruscio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fausto Di Ruscio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cleto Rami having to interfere. Fausto Di Ruscio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Cleto Rami made a huge save. Augusto Zinni had several of the Esther FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 72 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Cleto Rami as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 81 played minutes Augusto Zinni could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 0-4 into the left cross. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Isaias Clodio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esther FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Isaias Clodio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armin Salerni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Isaias Clodio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucio Bautista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd match minute, Poggio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesare De Marchi to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Poggio had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
