Eppenhuizen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Otto Zaagman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Augusto Zinni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Rick Daelemans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute Fausto Di Ruscio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rick Daelemans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Eppenhuizen's Humberto Meurs slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Armin Salerni. That made the score 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. Eppenhuizen's Rick Daelemans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Zinni in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th match minute, Eppenhuizen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maikel Tonnis to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, Fausto Di Ruscio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rick Daelemans. Eppenhuizen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fausto Di Ruscio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 34th match minute, Eppenhuizen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thijs Meyer to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the match, Augusto Zinni had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rick Daelemans. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augusto Zinni in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rick Daelemans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Augusto Zinni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 42 played minutes Eppenhuizen got a freekick which was hit by Thijs Meyer. In the 46th minute, Humberto Meurs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Humberto Meurs to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Augusto Zinni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Poggio's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Meurs came free, but Armin Salerni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57 played minutes Poggio got a freekick which was hit by Camillo Paglione. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otto Zaagman in the 59th minute of play forced Poggio's goalkeeper Armin Salerni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ettore Pardini kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Poggio's Fausto Di Ruscio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rick Daelemans. Rick Daelemans yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Augusto Zinni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Rick Daelemans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Otto Zaagman made a precise shot to the right of Armin Salerni. Poggio's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Augusto Zinni in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rick Daelemans saved Eppenhuizen from getting behind. Armin Salerni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Meurs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Otto Zaagman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armin Salerni was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. If Augusto Zinni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Fausto Di Ruscio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poggio's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Di Ruscio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rick Daelemans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd match minute, Eppenhuizen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maikel Tonnis to maneuver through the defense. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
