The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2ndth minute of the game Luís Caeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Anselmo Nevada hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Pankracy Glogowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Caeiro in the 5th minute of the match. Armindo Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Nevada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Fabio Artaldo made a precise shot to the right of Armindo Salgado. VB-Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 13 minutes Club Atlético Atlanta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gervásio Severiano who took care of the corner kick. The corner led VB-Team's Qiu Sheng Bang to fire away a dangerous shot which Pankracy Glogowski despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 13th minute, Qiu Sheng Bang ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pankracy Glogowski was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Armindo Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mugur Chiriac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute Mugur Chiriac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Club Atlético Atlanta getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Emil Chwalkiewicz hit a great ball. Gervásio Severiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Armindo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mugur Chiriac, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 38 minutes into the match, VB-Team's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Goicoechea came free, but Armindo Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquim de Barros came free with the goalkeeper in the 41st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Pankracy Glogowski could save by the left post. Paolo Caradaro kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Atlanta from getting a goal against them. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Alfonso Goicoechea made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Mugur Chiriac had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Armindo Salgado. VB-Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mugur Chiriac was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Pankracy Glogowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Caeiro in the 53rd minute of play. Anselmo Nevada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Armindo Salgado made a huge save. In the 58th minute VB-Team were awarded a corner. Gervásio Severiano went to the cornerflag to take it. When VB-Team's Joaquim de Barros in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club Atlético Atlanta's goalie prevented a goal. 63 minutes into the game, Mugur Chiriac was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético Atlanta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VB-Team the free kick. VB-Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Traian Hăvârneanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim de Barros in the 91st minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
