An unexpectedly hard shot by Éthan Pichard in the 9th minute of play forced Barcelona FC's goalkeeper Juraj Kolek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute, Éthan Pichard left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SV Bad Harzburg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Jacek Matuch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ctibor Závada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juraj Kolek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Takeshi Bieberstein in the 16th minute of the match. Matej Kobelník charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matej Kobelník the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th minute Takeshi Bieberstein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juraj Kolek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Barcelona FC's Ctibor Závada sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacek Matuch narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Derek Henderson in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juraj Kolek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Derek Henderson sped through Barcelona FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Juraj Kolek. Juraj Kolek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jurek Ohrem in the 31st minute of the match. Peter Tischler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Andrej Pacher fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barcelona FC's protests and gave Andrej Pacher a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th minute, Andrej Pacher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juraj Kolek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silvestre Loi in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
