U21 Portugal's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Ricardinho Maia scored to the left of an out of position Antero Linhares, making the score, 1-0. Jordão Vasques hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, U21 Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Braulio Toli came free, but Antero Linhares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, JEC - FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivaylo Yordanov came free, but Carlos Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julio Baptista in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antero Linhares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emanuel Mourinho kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Julio Baptista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antero Linhares was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. JEC - FC's Douglas Meira was substituted for Tarcisio Galvão. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Baptista in the 44th minute of play forced U21 Portugal's goalkeeper Antero Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

U21 Portugal's Mustapha Hadji was substituted for Adam George. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julio Baptista made a kick off. In the 57th minute Julio Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antero Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to JEC - FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Braulio Toli hit a great ball. Ivaylo Yordanov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Carlos Ramos made a huge save. 62 minutes into the game, JEC - FC's Julio Baptista nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antero Linhares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Antero Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71stth minute of the game Douglas Meira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Portugal's Antero Linhares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braulio Toli in the 76th minute of play forced U21 Portugal's goalkeeper Antero Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute Braulio Toli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antero Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Braulio Toli left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The JEC - FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. U21 Portugal's Ricardo Vasques was substituted for Moisés Álvares. U21 Portugal's Antero Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Douglas Meira in the 90th minute of play. With an all-out effort, U21 Portugal's Carlos Ramos threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Xavier Carvalhal, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of U21 Portugal booed when JEC - FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blas Jenaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 96 minutes of play, JEC - FC's Alexandre Tepedino made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antero Linhares was left in no man's land by his defense there!
