The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. C.A. Calamuchita's Florian Kicia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barnabé Neto in the 4th minute of play. Genílson Massa stood somewhat misplaced when Vassilis Vonortas came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 12 minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfredo Figueroa in the 16th minute of play forced Los Hermanos CIMZ's goalkeeper Genílson Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luisinho do Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A sloppy throw-in by Aristides Indartsu in the 19th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Los Hermanos CIMZ's Luisinho do Nascimento. In the 20th minute, Barnabé Neto made a precise shot to the right of Florian Kicia. C.A. Calamuchita's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Ernesto Bittencourt might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florian Kicia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ernesto Bittencourt ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 30th minute Truls Kirkemo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genílson Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aristides Indartsu kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Barnabé Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Genílson Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Truls Kirkemo in the 38th minute of play. When Truls Kirkemo got free in front of the goal in the 38th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Genílson Massa was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Dominik Lisewski put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Los Hermanos CIMZ fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 44 minutes, C.A. Calamuchita's Michael Jähnigen got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Genílson Massa. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Genílson Massa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Truls Kirkemo in the 52nd minute of the match. Los Hermanos CIMZ made a substitution. Silvinho Britto replaced Lucas Folden. Genílson Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vassilis Vonortas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Bebeto Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luisinho do Nascimento hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. C.A. Calamuchita made a substitution. Braulio Berbiz replaced Wilfredo Figueroa. After 69 played minutes Los Hermanos CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Luisinho do Nascimento. Truls Kirkemo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Genílson Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. C.A. Calamuchita's Florian Kicia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manoel de Lara in the 81st minute of play. Genílson Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vassilis Vonortas, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Genílson Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braulio Berbiz in the 96th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the C.A. Calamuchita players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
