Niculae Romanescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Holin Probohudono in the 14th minute of the match. In the 15th match minute, CWKS KĘDZIERZYN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ireneusz Jeleń to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, CWKS KĘDZIERZYN's goalkeeper Niculae Romanescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lilcho Ilchov. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ireneusz Jeleń in the 23rd minute of play forced PHOENIX SC's goalkeeper Ray Clemence to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, PHOENIX SC's goal looked a bit too open when Ireneusz Jeleń came free, but Ray Clemence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodrigo Abaurre hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michaël Guillot in the 26th minute of play forced PHOENIX SC's goalkeeper Ray Clemence to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Holin Probohudono in the 38th minute of play forced CWKS KĘDZIERZYN's goalkeeper Niculae Romanescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niculae Romanescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lilcho Ilchov in the 44th minute. Niculae Romanescu came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by PHOENIX SC's Lilcho Ilchov. But to his dismay, Lilcho Ilchov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frederico Hendrickx to make the kick off. Ray Clemence took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michaël Guillot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the match, CWKS KĘDZIERZYN's goal looked a bit too open when Holin Probohudono came free, but Niculae Romanescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ray Clemence made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ireneusz Jeleń in the 59th minute. The supporters of CWKS KĘDZIERZYN booed when PHOENIX SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dadá D Agostino didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, PHOENIX SC's Ray Clemence got control of the ball when Robertas Lewandowski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paulo José de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Ray Clemence tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marco van Basten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Ray Clemence made a huge save. In the 88th minute, Robertas Lewandowski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CWKS KĘDZIERZYN fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 96th minute, Paulo José de Carvalho made a precise shot to the right of Ray Clemence. PHOENIX SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. Despite being the better team, CWKS KĘDZIERZYN failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
