In the 4th minute, Tim Tovar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Alaska FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Mejia came free, but Mile Kostadinov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alaska FC's Mile Kostadinov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abraham Mejia in the 10th minute of play. Mile Kostadinov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Mejia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kyle Souplet blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mile Kostadinov having to make a save. Mile Kostadinov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyle Souplet in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Abraham Mejia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mile Kostadinov. Alaska FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abraham Mejia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After having played for 17 minutes, Abraham Mejia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Toronto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abraham Mejia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Hervé Watson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute Toronto FC were awarded a corner. Abraham Mejia went to the cornerflag to take it. Abraham Mejia made a great header on Toronto FC's corner, it was just that Alaska FC's Mile Kostadinov managed to reach the ball for a save. When Hyman Buckner came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Toronto FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hyman Buckner couldn't finish the play. In the 26th minute, Abraham Mejia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mile Kostadinov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abraham Mejia in the 31st minute of play. Alaska FC's Mile Kostadinov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tim Tovar in the 32nd minute of play. A collision led to Alaska FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Mario Minovski hit a great ball. Alaska FC's Zoki Utkov got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 39th minute Abraham Mejia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mile Kostadinov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abraham Mejia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abraham Mejia was the one to do the kick off. Abraham Mejia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mile Kostadinov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Toronto FC's Mile Kostadinov threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Abraham Mejia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Kyle Souplet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Mile Kostadinov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Abraham Mejia in the 61st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Mile Kostadinov was a little too slow when Abraham Mejia got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 68th minute. The score was now 0-5. Abraham Mejia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mile Kostadinov having to interfere. Hervé Watson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the match, Alaska FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Mejia came free, but Mile Kostadinov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abraham Mejia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 88th match minute, Alaska FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Minovski to maneuver through the defense. Tim Tovar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mile Kostadinov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Tovar in the 92nd minute of play. Mile Kostadinov stood somewhat misplaced when Abraham Mejia came free in front of goal and shot 0-6 to the left of him in the 95 minute.
The Alaska FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Toronto FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
