The audience thought a goal was coming when Krister Jonasson got free with Diamantino De Matos in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 5th minute Simão Fernandes Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greger Lindmark saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Greger Lindmark came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Angola City's Simão Fernandes Braga. But to his dismay, Simão Fernandes Braga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Greger Lindmark showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lopo Varanda, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Oskar Nyström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Diamantino De Matos made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oskar Nyström in the 18th minute of play forced Angola City's goalkeeper Diamantino De Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Viveque Fernandes Braga struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Greger Lindmark didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Angola City. Angola City's Diamantino De Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oskar Nyström in the 21st minute of play. Angola City's Diamantino De Matos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Angola City from getting a goal against them. In the 24th minute, Simão Fernandes Braga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Angola City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After some careless play in the Angola City defense, Kent Öman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diamantino De Matos. The Angola City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diamantino De Matos should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Malmö FF booed when Angola City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Rochedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diamantino De Matos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Oskar Nyström showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 43 minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Angola City's Simão Fernandes Braga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Greger Lindmark made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-4 lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oskar Nyström to make the kick off. Diamantino De Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Krister Jonasson, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Greger Lindmark made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cláudio Rochedo in the 64th minute. 65 minutes into the match, Östen Johnsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diamantino De Matos. Angola City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Östen Johnsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-4. 71 minutes into the game, Cláudio Rochedo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Greger Lindmark. Cláudio Rochedo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-5. Diamantino De Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oskar Nyström, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Cláudio Rochedo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Greger Lindmark firmly grabbed it by the left post. Greger Lindmark made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viveque Fernandes Braga in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Fernandes Braga in the 86th minute of play forced Malmö FF's goalkeeper Greger Lindmark to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vítor Chafes kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Diamantino De Matos came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Malmö FF's Oskar Nyström. But to his dismay, Oskar Nyström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-5.
Malmö FF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
