The audience thought a goal was coming when Aristide Childress got free with Charles-Emmanuel Cohen in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Derby County's Bryon Lampron managed to work through Poutier FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Bryon Lampron dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 31 minutes into the match, Nigel Farr dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Charles-Emmanuel Cohen, 1-3. If Ilan Cheret had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st match minute, Derby County was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bryon Lampron to maneuver through the defense.
