When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Romulo Casado took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dumitru Doloman to make any attempt to save it. Mario Jakobe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genaro Quiroga having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kuuno Tälli in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Genaro Quiroga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 9 minutes into the match, Viola Invest's goalkeeper Dumitru Doloman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Romulo Casado. The corner led River Plate's Cristo Restu to fire away a dangerous shot which Dumitru Doloman despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Romulo Casado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Dumitru Doloman made a huge save. After 16 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Nicolás Otamendi. In the 17th minute, Mario Jakobe made a precise shot to the right of Genaro Quiroga. River Plate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Viola Invest's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Romulo Casado scored to the left of an out of position Dumitru Doloman, making the score, 2-1. Romulo Casado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Dumitru Doloman made a huge save. Genaro Quiroga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig-Åke Gabrielsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mario Jakobe was the one to do the kick off. Mario Jakobe came free with the goalkeeper in the 50th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Genaro Quiroga could save by the left post. Kuuno Tälli blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Genaro Quiroga having to make a save. Dumitru Doloman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romulo Casado in the 55th minute of the match. The supporters of Viola Invest booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Traian Mugur didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Viola Invest's goal looked a bit too open when Romulo Casado came free, but Dumitru Doloman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mario Jakobe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Genaro Quiroga having to make a save. The supporters of Viola Invest booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Traian Mugur didn't get a good kick on the ball. River Plate's Erik Albuquerque was substituted for Eleuterio Efraim. River Plate's Nemesio Azeari was substituted for Godfredo Rioja. River Plate's Mauricio Tiniebra was substituted for Henrikh Vartanyan. If Mario Jakobe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romulo Casado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 89thth minute of the game Romulo Casado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Viola Invest's Dumitru Doloman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kuuno Tälli kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. When Romulo Casado fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Romulo Casado a yellow card for diving instead.
