Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Fırat Aytekin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 40 minutes into the match, Toronto Marlies FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nildo Rosa came free, but Anfilogino Amicone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Toronto Marlies FC's Gigel Bucur got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half S.C. Corinthians Paulista were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

S.C. Corinthians Paulista made a substitution. Dan Waller replaced Dé Töpper. In the 54th minute, Gigel Bucur left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Toronto Marlies FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 62nd minute, Nildo Rosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Valdecir Carlos was substituted for Edgard de Lima. After 64 played minutes S.C. Corinthians Paulista got a freekick which was hit by Nildo Rosa. With a little luck, Toronto Marlies FC's Anfilogino Amicone got control of the ball when Tiburcio Marques tried to sneak it across the goal line. Toronto Marlies FC's Daniel Passarelli was substituted for Ian Pansby. After a rather tough play, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Mehdi Brasselet got a free kick in the 79th minute. Fırat Aytekin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gigel Bucur, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute of the game Eriberto Talló made a throw-in which Tiburcio Marques played forward. Daniel Passarelli struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Fırat Aytekin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Toronto Marlies FC. 90 minutes into the match, Toronto Marlies FC's Gigel Bucur sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fırat Aytekin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 96 minutes into the match, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Gigel Bucur came free, but Fırat Aytekin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fırat Aytekin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Hamlin, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The S.C. Corinthians Paulista players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Toronto Marlies FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
