Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alberto Mendonça started the match with the kick off. 13 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goal looked a bit too open when Bruninho Bueno came free, but Giuseppe Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to SORRISO E. C. getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Alfredo da Rocha hit a great ball. In the 15th minute, SORRISO E. C.'s Alfredo da Rocha fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Giuseppe Lara was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. When Telmo Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nova Iguaçu MZFC's protests and gave Telmo Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. Telmo Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as SORRISO E. C.'s Alberto Mendonça slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Giuseppe Lara. That made the score 1-0 after 22 minutes of play. Cláudio Couto hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Alagoano in the 26th minute of play forced SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper Douglas Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Douglas Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Barbosa in the 29th minute of play. Guilherme Mandrak made a great header on Nova Iguaçu MZFC's corner, it was just that SORRISO E. C.'s Douglas Viana managed to reach the ball for a save. Douglas Viana came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Dalmo Rocha. But to his dismay, Dalmo Rocha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Alagoano in the 36th minute of play forced SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper Douglas Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SORRISO E. C.'s Douglas Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalmo Rocha in the 38th minute of play. If Telmo Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Telmo Barbosa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Douglas Viana was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Douglas Viana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Telmo Barbosa's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Telmo Barbosa in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Douglas Viana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nova Iguaçu MZFC were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after SORRISO E. C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Guilherme Mandrak took the corner. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cláudio Couto during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cláudio Couto hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dalmo Rocha to strike the kick off in the second half. César Alagoano's late challenge caught a SORRISO E. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. César Alagoano helped the player get up and apologised. SORRISO E. C. made a substitution. Miguel da Rocha replaced Alfredo da Rocha. After 65 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Túlio Vale. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel da Rocha in the 72nd minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Giuseppe Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Telmo Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Telmo Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Douglas Viana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Giuseppe Lara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in SORRISO E. C.'s zone, Dalmo Rocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Douglas Viana came out of the goal and Dalmo Rocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th match minute, SORRISO E. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raphael Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. Guilherme Mandrak's shot from long distance in the 88th minute was not bad at all, but SORRISO E. C.'s Douglas Viana knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. After 89 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Bruninho Bueno. Carlos Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Telmo Barbosa came free with the goalkeeper in the 93rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Douglas Viana could save by the left post. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
