Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Adah Keter kicked off to start the match. McDonald Leakey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Laurențiu Gaciu made a huge save. Peter Nyamau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Meireles in the 5th minute of the match. A collision led to Hurst Green getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Bwana Kamathi hit a great ball. The supporters of Exército Português booed when Hurst Green was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malcolm Otieno didn't get a good kick on the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Hurst Green's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Carrasqueira came free, but Peter Nyamau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Hurst Green's Antony Asati got a free kick in the 11th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Exército Português's goalkeeper Laurențiu Gaciu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by McDonald Leakey. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, McDonald Leakey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hurst Green's supporters rose to their feet, but McDonald Leakey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laurențiu Gaciu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Exército Português defense, Adah Keter kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laurențiu Gaciu. The Exército Português fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laurențiu Gaciu should have stopped the shot. In the 28th minute, Armando Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Exército Português's zone, McDonald Leakey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Laurențiu Gaciu came out of the goal and McDonald Leakey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Bruno Soveral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hurst Green's Peter Nyamau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Soveral in the 39th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Exército Português's Lech Trynda got a free kick in the 41st minute. Hurst Green's Victor Dadi got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Armando Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Armando Meireles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hurst Green's Peter Nyamau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Soveral in the 51st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Bruno Soveral kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Peter Nyamau. That made the score 1-2 in the 51 minute of play. A collision led to Exército Português getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Gustavo Carrasqueira hit a great ball. Armando Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Nyamau having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Armando Meireles notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Hurst Green's Peter Nyamau. Peter Nyamau was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Armando Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Peter Nyamau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peter Nyamau made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Gustavo Carrasqueira sent off a good shot on target. After 82 played minutes Hurst Green got a freekick which was hit by McDonald Leakey. In the 82nd minute, McDonald Leakey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Soveral in the 92nd minute of play forced Hurst Green's goalkeeper Peter Nyamau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adah Keter struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Laurențiu Gaciu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hurst Green. Exército Português's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
