Andres Ekhi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deilmison van Basten in the 5th minute of the match. Philip Jespersson made in the 7th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Emanuel Olisadebe. Andres Ekhi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denílson Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denílson Magalhães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Denílson Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 23rd minute Abel Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodriguinho Sousa made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Abel Ramalho sent off a good shot on target. ATHLETICO PRaiano's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Betão Marquez in the 34th minute. Vilhelm Skoog made a great header on ATHLETICO PRaiano's corner, it was just that Ricart Futebol Clube's Andres Ekhi managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 40th minute of the match Ricart Futebol Clube got a corner. ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Doron Bantz ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ricart Futebol Clube's Doron Bantz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rodriguinho Sousa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 47th match minute, Ricart Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tales Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Deilmison van Basten made a kick off. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Ramalho in the 56th minute of play. Deilmison van Basten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Andres Ekhi made a huge save. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Ralf Albäck was substituted for Unax Mudarra. Ricart Futebol Clube's Eusebio Hori was substituted for Abel Ramalho. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Gu Zhan Cheng quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Tales Gonçalves, made in the 77th minute of the game. 84 minutes into the match, Ricart Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Ralf Albäck came free, but Andres Ekhi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodriguinho Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebio Hori, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ricart Futebol Clube's zone, Deilmison van Basten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andres Ekhi came out of the goal and Deilmison van Basten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andres Ekhi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ralf Albäck in the 93rd minute of the match. The supporters of ATHLETICO PRaiano booed when Ricart Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovânio Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Ricart Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Ralf Albäck came free, but Andres Ekhi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The whistle blew for the end of the second half and the match was still tied. The players were able to take a short break before lining up again for extra-time.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Eusebio Hori got free with Rodriguinho Sousa in the 101st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eusebio Hori succeeded in the game's 102nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the ATHLETICO PRaiano players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ricart Futebol Clube.
