After some careless play in the Waitakere F.C. defense, Ramzi Drouart kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Burni. The Waitakere F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Burni should have stopped the shot. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Waitakere F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adrian Astigar was slow to take the kick. During this time Haithabu FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Haithabu FC's Adrian Astigar to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcos Burni despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 28th minute of the game Sylwester Sobania made a throw-in which Adrian Astigar played forward. Fabian Söderström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piara Santo in the 30th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Waitakere F.C.'s Fabian Söderström threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Piara Santo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 33 minutes into the game, Waitakere F.C.'s Piara Santo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabian Söderström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Waitakere F.C.'s Marcos Burni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramzi Drouart in the 37th minute of play. Marcos Burni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Astigar in the 39th minute of play. After 45 played minutes Waitakere F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Che Kasten. Simon Blomquist hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute Ignacio Ereinotz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Söderström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Haithabu FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Piara Santo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sylwester Sobania hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute, Önder Kaçan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 57th minute Gar Gamel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Söderström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Haithabu FC booed when Waitakere F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delmiro Oto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Waitakere F.C.'s Eduardo Vasco was substituted for Gar Gamel. Haithabu FC made a substitution. Gervasio Albonico replaced Kurt Slaghmeulders. A collision led to Waitakere F.C. getting a freekick after 59 minutes play.
