In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Mike Zoetmulder, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Perivaldo Eger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Albano Hever made a huge save. After 15 played minutes ⛥Milrayitas⛤ got a freekick which was hit by Robin van Persie. The ⛥Milrayitas⛤ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albano Hever should have stopped the shot. In the 27th minute Montrel Perpiñán shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albano Hever saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. De Pelgrims's Jan-Peter Kloppenburg was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Albano Hever in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Albano Hever was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Jan-Peter Kloppenburg capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jan-Peter Kloppenburg really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Mike Zoetmulder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ruben Seinstra's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute Huub Gerrits shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albano Hever saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of ⛥Milrayitas⛤ booed when De Pelgrims was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias de Ruijter didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Ruben Seinstra notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of De Pelgrims's Mike Zoetmulder. Mike Zoetmulder was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Bernardino Luar replaced Norberto Cuartio. Mike Zoetmulder made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robin van Persie in the 76th minute. Carlos Tevez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mike Zoetmulder having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Tevez in the 84th minute of play forced De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Mike Zoetmulder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the match, ⛥Milrayitas⛤'s goal looked a bit too open when Mathias de Ruijter came free, but Albano Hever reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to ⛥Milrayitas⛤ getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Matias Natal hit a great ball.
