Jens-Åke Källberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geronimo Salomone, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Godofredo Remigio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Jens-Åke Källberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustav Stenkvist in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olavo Henriques saved Racing Club from getting behind. The throw-in from Eustacio Gonsalvo in the 34th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Boca Juniors's Gustav Stenkvist. The Racing Club players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Boca Juniors were winning 0-1.

In the 80th minute İskender Baki Sabi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens-Åke Källberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85thth minute of the game Torgny Landin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Racing Club's Olavo Henriques was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 87th minute Boca Juniors were awarded a corner. Vilhelm Holm went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 94th match minute, Racing Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Picka to maneuver through the defense. The Boca Juniors supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Boca Juniors would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
