When Achille Causio fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored US Albenga's protests and gave Achille Causio a yellow card for diving instead. After 10 played minutes US Albenga got a freekick which was hit by Achille Causio. When Pedro Casomiro came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Azulgrana 81 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Casomiro couldn't finish the play. In the 19th match minute, Azulgrana 81 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Rivas to maneuver through the defense. In the 22ndth minute of the game Daniele Molinario who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Azulgrana 81's Alvaro Karmel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alvaro Karmel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniele Molinario in the 27th minute of play. After 33 played minutes US Albenga got a freekick which was hit by Federico Gerosa. With his leg Alvaro Karmel managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when US Albenga's Daniele Molinario fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Alvaro Karmel made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Alessio De Vecchis sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of US Albenga booed when Azulgrana 81 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Casomiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Daniele Molinario recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alvaro Karmel. Daniele Molinario showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Alessio De Vecchis sped through Azulgrana 81's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alvaro Karmel. Ciccio Mariano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to US Albenga getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Felice Bottone hit a great ball. 64 minutes into the game, US Albenga's Daniele Molinario nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alvaro Karmel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Alvaro Karmel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Tozzi in the 67th minute of play. With 72 minutes on the clock, Anselmo Chano commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Azulgrana 81 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 72nd minute. Penalty! The referee gave US Albenga a penalty, 74 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Donato Mascitti, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Azulgrana 81's Alvaro Karmel. 5-1. Alvaro Karmel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniele Molinario's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. In the 79thth minute of the game Daniele Molinario who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Azulgrana 81's Alvaro Karmel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 82 minutes into the game, Alvaro Masetti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. US Albenga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Azulgrana 81 the free kick. After 83 played minutes US Albenga got a freekick which was hit by Alvaro Masetti. Donato Mascitti hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 96 minutes into the game, when Achille Causio put in a rough tackle. Bernardo De Fina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Casomiro in the 98th minute of play. Azulgrana 81's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
