In the 5th minute Silas Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Jerico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 6th match minute, Niterói FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Neto to maneuver through the defense. Rafa Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristides Gurutz in the 7th minute of the match. A collision led to Niterói FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Lenílson Ferreira hit a great ball. Niterói FC's Rafa Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romulo Eneas in the 11th minute of play. When Silas Barbosa came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Niterói FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silas Barbosa couldn't finish the play. In the 16th minute, Silas Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, Silas Barbosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ruben Jerico. C.A.Chicago Rosarina's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silas Barbosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of C.A.Chicago Rosarina booed when Niterói FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silas Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aristides Gurutz got free with Rafa Pires in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Silas Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Jerico having to interfere. Silas Barbosa struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Ruben Jerico didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Niterói FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Aristides Gurutz managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A.Chicago Rosarina's supporters rose to their feet, but Aristides Gurutz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafa Pires breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rafa Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romulo Eneas in the 41st minute of play. Domingo Weterio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Rafa Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romulo Eneas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Rafa Pires made a huge save. After 46 played minutes Niterói FC got a freekick which was hit by Silas Barbosa. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Silas Barbosa to strike the kick off in the second half. Rafa Pires stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Domingo Weterio's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Domingo Weterio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Rafa Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ruben Jerico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silas Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rafa Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristides Gurutz, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Rafa Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romulo Eneas in the 64th minute of the match. In the 65thth minute of the game Silas Barbosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A.Chicago Rosarina's Ruben Jerico was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Niterói FC's goal looked a bit too open when Romulo Eneas came free, but Rafa Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st match minute, Niterói FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Neto to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingo Weterio in the 77th minute of play forced Niterói FC's goalkeeper Rafa Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute, Geovani Bezerra made a precise shot to the right of Ruben Jerico. C.A.Chicago Rosarina's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. The Niterói FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Niterói FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
