Rafa Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaj Sundström, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Kevin Söderman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silas Barbosa's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Jens-Ove Lindblom scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rafa Pires, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Silas Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Kevin Söderman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Niterói FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Abel Neto hit a great ball. Kevin Söderman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geovani Bezerra went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Niterói FC's Abel Neto got a free kick in the 29th minute. With his leg Kevin Söderman managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Niterói FC's Silas Barbosa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 34th minute Silas Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Söderman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovani Bezerra in the 35th minute of play forced Mullsjö's goalkeeper Kevin Söderman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mullsjö's zone, Silas Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kevin Söderman came out of the goal and Silas Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rafa Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Olof Molin in the 40th minute of the match. When Silas Barbosa came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Niterói FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silas Barbosa couldn't finish the play. Lenílson Ferreira lost his temper 47 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Niterói FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 46th minute. Penalty! After 50 minutes Niterói FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Calle Ekrot who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Calle Ekrot got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rafa Pires quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Mullsjö's Sixten Pilberg in the 50th minute got a chance for a shot 50th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Niterói FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antônio Carlos Freitas to make the kick off. Kevin Söderman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Sanches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A well-hit corner resulted in Ciro Martins heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Noel Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Söderman having to interfere. Niterói FC's Noel Sanches got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute, Calle Ekrot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Antônio Carlos Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Geovani Bezerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Noel Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Söderman having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harry Carlberg during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 81 played minutes Mullsjö got a freekick which was hit by Harry Carlberg. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovani Bezerra in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kevin Söderman saved Mullsjö from getting behind. After 88 played minutes Niterói FC got a freekick which was hit by Juarês Proença. Geovani Bezerra struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Kevin Söderman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Niterói FC. Harry Carlberg kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Mullsjö's Kevin Söderman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Freitas in the 94th minute of play. Geovani Bezerra might have been able to make a better finish in the 98th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kevin Söderman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geovani Bezerra ran back to his position shaking his head.
