Ziya Onur Baysungur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doğa Ogansoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. 5 minutes into the game, Ziya Pekdemir was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Yusufeli JK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gençlerbirliği the free kick. Ziya Pekdemir kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Yağızalp Şinas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Ünsal Altıncı had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ziya Onur Baysungur. Yusufeli JK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ünsal Altıncı was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 17 minutes into the game, Andi Metzler cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Ziya Onur Baysungur was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 20 played minutes Yusufeli JK got a freekick which was hit by Atakan Gazir. Atakan Gazir's late challenge caught a Gençlerbirliği's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Atakan Gazir helped the player get up and apologised. Yağızalp Şinas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Belmiro Catarinense when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Gençlerbirliği booed when Yusufeli JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdullah Beybolat didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Şaban Aktaşlıoğlu made a precise shot to the right of Ziya Onur Baysungur. Yusufeli JK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. After a rather tough play, Yusufeli JK's Atakan Gazir got a free kick in the 46th minute. After some careless play in the Yusufeli JK defense, Şaban Aktaşlıoğlu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ziya Onur Baysungur. The Yusufeli JK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ziya Onur Baysungur should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-8.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Şaban Aktaşlıoğlu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ziya Onur Baysungur was a little too slow when Şaban Aktaşlıoğlu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-9. Ziya Onur Baysungur made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Ünsal Altıncı sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Gençlerbirliği booed when Yusufeli JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cabbar Oray didn't get a good kick on the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Ünsal Altıncı notched a goal, 0-10, to the right of Yusufeli JK's Ziya Onur Baysungur. Ziya Onur Baysungur was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Şaban Aktaşlıoğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Ziya Onur Baysungur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ziya Onur Baysungur made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ünsal Altıncı in the 76th minute. Ziya Onur Baysungur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fehmi Ongul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 79th play minutes Şaban Aktaşlıoğlu shot 0-11, a short shot which went by Ziya Onur Baysungur and just under the crossbar into goal. Ünsal Altıncı made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 84thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Ziya Onur Baysungur would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. 88 minutes into the match, Yusufeli JK's goalkeeper Ziya Onur Baysungur had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ünsal Altıncı. In the 93rd minute Ziya Pekdemir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Belmiro Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fehmi Ongul sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Gençlerbirliği left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Yusufeli JK.
