In the 11th minute of the match Daniil Malysh sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ignaz Pisula skillfully saved the ball. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind KF Trepça's goalkeeper Ignaz Pisula, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 17th minute, Dariusz Göldner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 19 minutes, Daniil Malysh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dinamo St. Petersburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniil Malysh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dinamo St. Petersburg's Aleksandr Arnautov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Dinamo St. Petersburg from getting a goal against them.

The wind increased when Thibaut Zengers made the kick off in the second half. Aleksandr Arnautov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márcio Leitão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aleksandr Arnautov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thibaut Zengers, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The supporters of KF Trepça booed when Dinamo St. Petersburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Tarasov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aleksandr Arnautov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Márcio Leitão's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. If Márcio Leitão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There was no doubt that KF Trepça were the better team. KF Trepça's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
