An unexpectedly hard shot by Grabiel Escorcia in the 13th minute of play forced A.D. Puente Cantalojas's goalkeeper Atauri Salan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Nacional booed when A.D. Puente Cantalojas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. René Palencia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in A.D. Puente Cantalojas's zone, Grabiel Escorcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Atauri Salan came out of the goal and Grabiel Escorcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grabiel Escorcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Grabiel Escorcia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Atauri Salan made a huge save. An unexpected shot in the 34th minute by Luciano Inverso got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Juaneizu Merida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Camarasa in the 42nd minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Grabiel Escorcia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Nacional booed when A.D. Puente Cantalojas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto-Carlos Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute, Grabiel Escorcia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nacional fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Atauri Salan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grabiel Escorcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After having played for 68 minutes, Carlos Camarasa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.D. Puente Cantalojas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Camarasa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nacional made a substitution. Walme Yurre replaced Mendiko Bueres. A.D. Puente Cantalojas's Emil Valström was substituted for Erland Odman. Atauri Salan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Grabiel Escorcia went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grabiel Escorcia in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Atauri Salan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlos Camarasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Grabiel Escorcia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the A.D. Puente Cantalojas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Nacional.
