Ingemar Willig took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavinho Dionísio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Silvinho de Senna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ingemar Willig was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. The corner led Vila Aurora FC's Breno Borges to fire away a dangerous shot which Ingemar Willig despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Vila Aurora FC's goalkeeper Chicão Leal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Örjan Levander. 18 minutes into the match, Örjan Levander dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Chicão Leal, 1-0. Adilson Tepedino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ingemar Willig having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Adilson Tepedino made a precise shot to the right of Ingemar Willig. Stennäs FF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Ingemar Willig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cafu Maranhense in the 33rd minute of the match. The supporters of Stennäs FF booed when Vila Aurora FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Filipo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th match minute, Vila Aurora FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesar Filipo to maneuver through the defense. Örjan Levanders short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Chicão Leal to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 46 played minutes Stennäs FF got a freekick which was hit by Per-Åke Pålsson. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Håkan Björklund made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Stennäs FF got a freekick which was hit by Herman Rosin. Silvinho de Senna took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ingemar Willig. Ingemar Willig dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Ingemar Willig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adilson Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute, Andréas Rudberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee felt a red card was in order, 69 minutes into the game, when Vilgot Lundberg put in a rough tackle. A collision led to Stennäs FF getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Örjan Levander hit a great ball. In the 82nd match minute, Stennäs FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Håkan Björklund to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute Adilson Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingemar Willig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ingemar Willig stood somewhat misplaced when Adilson Tepedino came free in front of goal and shot 1-5 to the left of him in the 84 minute. 87 minutes into the match, Flavinho Dionísio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ingemar Willig, 1-6. Vila Aurora FC's Chicão Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henning Lingren in the 96th minute of play. Vila Aurora FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
