An unexpectedly hard shot by Levent Hicran in the 16th minute of play forced Coviolo's goalkeeper Didier Gobbelijns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andrea Gambini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Levent Hicran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Didier Gobbelijns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Levent Hicran in the 22nd minute of play. Samir Afacan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrea Gambini in the 24th minute of play. After 35 minutes of play, Coviolo's Andrea Gambini made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Samir Afacan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Didier Gobbelijns made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Levent Hicran sent off a good shot on target. Ciccio Di Loreto made a great header on San Mauro A Mare FC's corner, it was just that Coviolo's Didier Gobbelijns managed to reach the ball for a save. Didier Gobbelijns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciccio Di Loreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andrea Gambini made a kick off. Didier Gobbelijns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Levent Hicran in the 51st minute of play. In the 56th minute, one of San Mauro A Mare FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for San Mauro A Mare FC. Ramon Piarres hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Coviolo's Robert Lipinski was substituted for Bennvar Elin. San Mauro A Mare FC made a substitution. Alex Orsi replaced Levent Hicran. San Mauro A Mare FC's Augusto Riso was substituted for Francesco Cremonese. 姚军耀 struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Samir Afacan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coviolo. Coviolo's Franco Zuccarini was substituted for Kent Sandström. San Mauro A Mare FC's Tony Rosa was substituted for Trey Cai. Didier Gobbelijns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Rosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 90th minute Alex Orsi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Didier Gobbelijns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Coviolo defense, Tony Rosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Didier Gobbelijns. The Coviolo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Didier Gobbelijns should have stopped the shot. Alex Orsi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alex Orsi took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Didier Gobbelijns. Didier Gobbelijns dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Coviolo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
