The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jean Van Damme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vânderson Guimarães in the 3rd minute of play. A collision led to Papillon AC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Louis Rotning hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Palhocense's goal looked a bit too open when Zosimo Vadillo came free, but Mauro Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute Sergio Jerano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Medero Medina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clube Atlético Palhocense's goalkeeper Mauro Barreto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mauro Barreto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zosimo Vadillo in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Palhocense's goal looked a bit too open when Medero Medina came free, but Mauro Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mauro Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Jerano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clube Atlético Palhocense's Mauro Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zosimo Vadillo in the 27th minute of play. Mauro Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Jerano, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Mauro Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emiliano Nardo in the 32nd minute of the match. A collision led to Papillon AC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Medero Medina hit a great ball. Vânderson Guimarães hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Papillon AC's Zosimo Vadillo got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Papillon AC fans' excitement grew in the 48th match minute when Papillon AC's Leonides Modestio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.

Mauro Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Jerano in the 54th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Papillon AC's goal looked a bit too open when Vânderson Guimarães came free, but Jean Van Damme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emiliano Nardo got free with Mauro Barreto in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mauro Barreto made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Leonides Modestio sent off a good shot on target. Leonides Modestio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Mauro Barreto made a huge save. 65 minutes into the match, Sergio Jerano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mauro Barreto. Clube Atlético Palhocense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sergio Jerano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 68th minute of the match, Sergio Jerano tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mauro Barreto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 80th minute, Medero Medina reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mauro Barreto. The goal made the score 2-3. Mauro Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zosimo Vadillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the game, Sergio Jerano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Mauro Barreto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Papillon AC booed when Clube Atlético Palhocense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vânderson Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustavo Birila in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
