Daniel Sousa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frank Frankfurter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. In the 18th minute Edinson Haaland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás Toscano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A throw-in in the 22nd minute of the game was made by Mihnea Zamfir with Daniel Sousa as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Chinese CJ Youth Academy's Frank Frankfurter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Sousa in the 24th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Chinese CJ Youth Academy's Edinson Haaland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thomás Toscano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Capibaribe Stars's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Su Jian Jie was slow to take the kick. During this time Chinese CJ Youth Academy's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Roni Ronaldinho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Thomás Toscano quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Chinese CJ Youth Academy's Frank Frankfurter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Sousa in the 36th minute of play. Chinese CJ Youth Academy's Su Jian Jie quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Wilton Fontes, made in the 43rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Chinese CJ Youth Academy's Xu Yong Feng got a free kick in the 45th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Sousa to make the kick off. Frank Frankfurter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Sousa in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th match minute, Chinese CJ Youth Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xu Yong Feng to maneuver through the defense. Capibaribe Stars's Robinho Urbano was substituted for Daniel Sousa. Capibaribe Stars's Henry Costa was substituted for Nike 武磊. In the 65th minute Robinho Urbano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Frankfurter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edinson Haaland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 71 played minutes Capibaribe Stars got a freekick which was hit by Mihnea Zamfir. Chinese CJ Youth Academy made a substitution. Yuan Ting Chao replaced Lu Zhan Jian. Mihnea Zamfir hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Frank Frankfurter successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A throw-in in the 80th minute of the game was made by Atalay Turkay with Robinho Urbano as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry Costa in the 87th minute of play forced Chinese CJ Youth Academy's goalkeeper Frank Frankfurter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 played minutes Capibaribe Stars got a freekick which was hit by Albino Gaskon. Frank Frankfurter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henry Costa in the 92nd minute. Henry Costa got the audience’s attention when, from a short distance, he fired away a great shot in the 93rd minute of the game. The shot hit the left post and bounced out. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Günther Doty managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chinese CJ Youth Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but Günther Doty was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomás Toscano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Chinese CJ Youth Academy fans cheered their team off the field, for while Capibaribe Stars had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
