The Chinese CJ Youth Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frank Frankfurter should have stopped the shot. If Edinson Haaland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tytus Orling in the 35th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Thomás Toscano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute Chinese CJ Youth Academy were awarded a corner. Wincent Jaroch went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Xu Yong Feng managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Sousa in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frank Frankfurter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 43rd minute of the match, Tytus Orling tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Thomás Toscano saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Edinson Haaland made the kick off in the second half. Thomás Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edinson Haaland in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute Daniel Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Frankfurter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Daniel Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Capibaribe Stars made a substitution. Hicham Al Azka replaced Daşdämir Albändiyev. Thomás Toscano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tytus Orling, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Chinese CJ Youth Academy made a substitution. Günther Doty replaced Tytus Orling. After having played for 88 minutes, Daniel Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capibaribe Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Capibaribe Stars's Thomás Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinson Haaland in the 90th minute of play. Frank Frankfurter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Sousa in the 93rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Günther Doty in the 96th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Thomás Toscano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Günther Doty came free, but Thomás Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thomás Toscano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Günther Doty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chants of Capibaribe Stars echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Chinese CJ Youth Academy had held the ball for most of the match.
