In the 48th minute, Ferreirinha dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Brazil's attentive Saulão Chettle managed to snatch the ball when Carlos Gamarra made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. 57 minutes into the match, S.C.CHUÍ's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin da Fonseca came free, but Armando Cerezo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 94 minutes of play, Brazil's Maurinho Mendonça made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Armando Cerezo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Brazil's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
